The Wave
Surfing in United Kingdom was never an easy thing to do, mostly because of the distance that you have to travel, to find the proper surfing waves. Most of the spots are in Cornwall or Scotland. So it is hard to get to those spots for a surfers living in Midlands.
As a surfer you can feel some kind of energy and power in the ocean, when you trying to surf the proper wave. With The Wave, you don’t have to loose that feeling as you waiting for exact conditions to surf. No matter you are a beginner or professional, The Wave with a 180m long surfing lagoon will bring that feeling back.


The Founders
Founded by Nick Hounsfield and Craig Stoddart, The Wave is an inland surf destination that allows people to surf on consistent safe waves all year round without going to the sea.
Nick and Craig wanted to provide a place where everyone could improve their health and wellbeing. Where people could make the connection with the nature and themselves through surfing, with a lot of fun.
Wavegarden ➔
The Wave is using Wavegarden cove technology which can generate up to 1000 quality ocean-like waves per hour. The size, shape, power and frequency of the waves can be adjusted. From beginner surfers and waves of 50cm (1.7ft) height, to professionals where they can surf on much higher waves as 2m (6.5ft). On day-to-day setting there could be a new wave every 8-10 seconds.
Waves are formed in 4 areas within the Cove. The surfing areas include 2 Reef and 2 Bay areas.
If you are a beginner, the Bay areas offer open face and knee-high gentle white-water waves. The waves are soft and slow moving, allowing first timers to gain experience in user-friendly conditions. Beginner surfers can quickly catch and ride perfect waves in a completely controlled environment.
If you are an expert in surfing or intermediate surfer, the Reef areas provide powerful waves similar to best ocean breaks in the world. Professional surfers can improve their surfing skills with a lot of fun which comes wit it. The waves can be fast with various challenging sections, including clean open faces and steep barrels.


Destination Bristol
The Wave is based in Washingpool Farm, Easter Campton in Bristol BS35 5RE. The parking is free, but places are limited, so bare that in mind when you want to book a session. To avoid disappointment you will have to come little bit early during peak periods. They are open seven days a week for whole year except Christmas Day, from 6:30am to 6pm.
